James Meyer is an award-winning writer and director. A graduate of the New York Film Academy and American Academy of Art in Chicago James began his career as an Art Director in advertising for Leo Burnett & Bates Worldwide, writing and producing TV commercials for Wendy’s, Heinz, & Kellogg's. Since 1991, he has travelled extensively producing documentaries, promotional videos and films in over 75 countries.
In 2006 James and his wife Sara founded GemStone Media in Germany. GemStone Media produces positive, engaging stories that honor the cultural uniqueness of the people where the story is set with the distinct goal to bring hope to those who are struggling with hopelessness.
Writing, Directing, Filming and Editing the feature film The Kingdom in the lush vineyards of Kosovo and The Traveler in the beautiful Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan has been a career highlight. https://vimeo.com/gemstonemedia/meyer-reel
